Technical Information for the Ecofan™ 800 Series

The Caframo Ecofan™ is a heat powered fan designed to circulate the warm air created by a wood or gas stove.  Improved warm air circulation results in greater comfort and less fuel consumption.  Choose an Original 800 or an Airplus 802 for a wood stove or the GS 806 for a gas stove.

Unique Blade Design - The unique anodised gold or nickel coloured blade has been specifically designed to deliver a very broad cross section of gentle air movement instead of a small cone of concentrated air.

Easy Operation - Ecofans start automatically and adjust speed with the stove’s temperature.  As the stove heats up the Ecofan runs faster to move more air into the room.  As the stove burns down and cools, the Ecofan automatically slows down and stops.

Costs nothing to Operate - Ecofans use only the heat from the stove.  The Ecofan i the most economical way to efficiently circulate warm air.  It does not use any batteries and can be used where there is no electricity.

A collaborated study by the faulty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) and the Manufacturer Caframo, has proved that 14% less firewood is required to achieve and maintain a human comfort level of 22.5C. 

These fans have a thermoelectric module which acts as a small generator to power the fan’s motor. When this generator module experiences a heat differential between its top and bottom surfaces, it pumps out electricity. The base of the fan heats the bottom surface of the module, while the top of the module is kept cooler by the fan’s top cooling fins.
